Information

Reminiscent Designs is small quality graphic and resource website, featuring mainly Japanese Anime. This site was created by me, Sarah, formerly known as Quinn, as a way of improving my designing and coding abilities and as a way of paying tribute to the world of web design and Anime. My interest in web design grew out of my love for art, particularly Japanese animation, and a curiosity in the Internet world. I began this exploration when I was 12-years-old, starting off with Adobe Photoshop installed on my computer and surfing the Internet for "how-to" tutorials. RD is not the first website I have created. I have created many websites in the past, some being for commercial use. I am currently maintaining a few sites, including Reminiscent Designs, Reminiscent Tutorials, and Timeless, my online Art.Bog.

My first official website opened the summer of 2003 and was called "Celestial Tears" which was a very small Anime graphic site hosted on a free server. After switching to a subdomain hosted at Immortal Bliss, Celestial Tears moved again to a subdomain hosted at Simply Torn. The opportunity to be hosted on a subdomain rather than a free server really opened doors for me in the sense that I could explore coding since previously I was not allowed PHP Support or MySQL databases and was limited in many other ways. Having spent three years of working on Celestial Tears, I decided it was time for a band new change along with my changing abilities and artistic growth. Thus, I created Reminiscent Designs during the summer of 2006 as a work in progress. The word reminiscent is an adjective that means impressionistic, awakening memories of the past. I chose this word because it reflected my personality; my tendency to hold on to the past. The added designs in the name felt appropriate at the time, since the site mainly consisted of graphic designs.

During the month of May 2007, I was able to purchase my very own domain name and server space. Therefore, in the summer of 2007, I officially launched the opening of Reminiscent Designs. Since then it has received quite a large response and has even grown into more of a network rather than an independent site. In all honesty, I am not looking for popularity or receiving money from this website. The soul purpose of Reminiscent Designs is to provide quality graphics and resources for the visitors. Also, it is a way for me to share my love of Anime with the world. I hope you will find some helpful resources or useful graphics. If I can inspire a handful of curious visitors with this website, then that is all I could ever ask for.
